Built around Sargent's 80 Series platform, this device features electric latch retraction (ETL), allowing the latch to be electrically withdrawn for remote access or momentary free entry. Configured as fail-safe, a power interruption unlocks the outside lever, making it ideal for secured egress applications where safety is paramount. Rated for doors measuring 43 to 48 inches wide and supplied less dogging to meet fire-rating requirements, it operates on 24V and pairs with the 8800 series trim for dependable commercial performance.

Features

Fire-rated rim exit device suitable for labeled door and frame assemblies.

Electric latch retraction (ETL) electrically withdraws the latchbolt for remote or momentary access.

Fail-safe configuration unlocks the outside lever when power is removed.

Sized for doors between 43 and 48 inches wide.

Operates on 24V DC for compatibility with standard access control systems.

Supplied less dogging to comply with fire-rating code requirements.

Furnished without a cylinder, allowing use of an existing or preferred keying system.

Grade 1 construction for durability in high-traffic commercial environments.

Functional Details

The 8873 function provides exit-only operation from the inside with keyed or trim-controlled access from the outside.
