Built for doors measuring 37 to 42 inches wide, it features electric latch retraction (ELR) that uses a quiet motor to withdraw the latch for remote release and access control integration. The 8873 function provides exit only with a thumbpiece (ETB) lever trim on the outside, operating in a fail-safe configuration where a loss of power unlocks the lever. Supplied without a cylinder and less dogging to maintain fire-rating compliance, this device delivers reliable performance in demanding commercial environments.

Features

Electric latch retraction allows remote unlatching and smooth integration with access control systems.

Fire-rated construction suitable for labeled openings where dogging is not permitted.

Fail-safe operation unlocks the outside lever when power is removed.

ETB lever trim provides keyed or non-keyed exterior access depending on configuration.

Sized for wide doors spanning 37 to 42 inches.

Operates on 12V DC power for compatibility with common low-voltage systems.

Rugged all-metal chassis for high-traffic durability.

Functional Details

The 8873 is a fail-safe electrified latch retraction function.
