Designed for doors measuring 33 to 36 inches wide, it combines electric latch retraction with a fail secure configuration, meaning the outside lever stays locked when power is removed. The 56 prefix indicates the electric latch retraction feature, while the ETJ trim provides lever-style egress and entry. Operating on 24V, this unit ships without a cylinder, allowing you to specify your own keying setup. As a Grade 1 device from Sargent, it delivers the durability and code compliance demanded in high-traffic institutional, healthcare, and commercial environments.

Features

Fire-rated rim exit device suitable for labeled door assemblies.

Electric latch retraction (56 prefix) for remote and automated operation.

Fail secure design keeps the outside lever locked when power is lost.

Sized for doors from 33 to 36 inches wide.

24V operation for integration with modern access control systems.

ETJ lever trim for comfortable entry and exit.

Supplied less cylinder so you can match existing keying.

Less dogging, as required for fire-rated applications.

Functional Details

The electric latch retraction function allows the exit device latch to be retracted electrically, enabling remote unlocking and momentary or continuous dogging through connected access control hardware.
