Built for exit-only applications on 37" to 42" door widths, it features Electric Latch Retraction (ELR), which allows the latch to be retracted electrically for remote unlocking, access control integration, and automatic operator compatibility. As part of Sargent's 8900 Series, this device delivers dependable mortise lock security combined with the convenience of electrified operation. The "J" designation indicates the device ships without a trim preparation, making it ideal for push-to-exit installations where interior egress is the primary requirement. Its rugged construction ensures long-term reliability under demanding daily use.

Features

Electric Latch Retraction (ELR) enables remote and automated unlocking for access control systems.

Mortise lock design provides superior strength and security compared to rim-style devices.

Exit-only configuration supports controlled egress without exterior trim.

Sized specifically for door widths from 37" to 42".

Heavy-duty components rated for high-traffic commercial environments.

Compatible with automatic door operators for ADA accessibility.

Functional Details

Electric Latch Retraction works by electrically withdrawing the latchbolt when energized, allowing the door to be pushed or pulled open freely or integrated with an automatic operator.
