Designed for door widths of 43 to 48 inches, this Grade 1 device features electric latch retraction (ETL) powered at 12 volts, allowing the latch to be electrically retracted for remote unlocking and momentary free egress. Configured fail secure, the outside lever locks when power is removed, maintaining security during outages while a key retracts the latch. Supplied less cylinder and less dogging to suit fire-rated requirements, it pairs durability with the smooth operation expected from Sargent's 80 Series exit hardware.

Features

Electric latch retraction (ETL) provides remote, momentary unlocking for controlled access.

Fail secure operation keeps the outside lever locked when power is lost.

Fire-rated rim exit device suitable for labeled door assemblies.

Sized for door widths between 43 and 48 inches.

Supplied less cylinder, allowing the installer to specify a matching mortise cylinder.

Less dogging, as required for fire-rated applications.

Key retracts the latch for secure mechanical entry from the exterior.

Grade 1 construction for high-traffic commercial durability.

Functional Details

The 56-8876 ETL function combines a fire-rated rim exit device with 12V electric latch retraction.
