The Sargent 12-55-8813-G-ETJ is a Grade 1 fire rated rim exit device built for high-traffic commercial openings up to 48 inches wide. Configured in classroom (ET) function with the J lever trim, it allows secure keyed control of the outside lever while always permitting free egress from the inside. An integrated request-to-exit (RX) switch monitors the device for access control and alarm integration. As a fire rated unit, it is supplied less dogging to maintain positive latching required for fire-rated door assemblies, making it a dependable choice for schools, offices, and institutional facilities that demand both life safety and controlled access.

Functional Details

The classroom function allows the outside lever to be locked or unlocked by key, while the inside push bar always retracts the latch for immediate egress. The RX option adds electronic signaling to report the status of the device.
