Functional Details

The 8874 electrified rim exit device uses electric latch retraction to pull the latch back on command, permitting momentary or sustained access from the outside while always allowing immediate egress from the inside. In the fail secure mode, removing power locks the outside trim so the door remains secure during a power interruption.
