The Sargent 12-NB-8715-J-ETMI-96 is an ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 NB8700 Series surface vertical rod exit device with passage-function ETMI lever trim. It is configured for a 37–42-inch door width and a 96-inch door height. The less-bottom-rod design uses a single top latching point without a bottom rod or floor strike. The 12- option identifies the fire-rated configuration and includes a thermal pin.
Function 15 is Passage: the outside lever retracts the latch at all times, and the inside pushpad retracts the latch for egress. No cylinder is required for the passage trim. The top latch remains active when the device is released; passage function does not eliminate positive latching. This fire-rated configuration has no manual hex key or cylinder dogging.
