Sargent 16-8804-G-ETP Rim Exit Device, Night Latch Function, ET Control, P Lever, 43-48 Inch Door, Cylinder Dogging, Grade 1, LA Keyway, Keyed Different

The Sargent 16-8804-G-ETP Rim Exit Device delivers reliable, code-compliant panic hardware for high-traffic commercial openings. Designed for doors measuring 43 to 48 inches in width, this Grade 1 device features the night latch (8804) function paired with ET trim and the P lever, giving secure key-controlled entry from the outside while maintaining free egress. Cylinder dogging allows the latch to be held retracted using a key, ideal for scheduled access periods. Supplied with the LA keyway and keyed different, this device suits facilities that require individual keying across multiple doors. Built to Sargent's proven standards, it offers dependable performance for schools, offices, and institutional buildings.

Features

  • Rim-mounted exit device engineered for 43-48 inch wide doors.
  • Night latch (8804) function provides key-retracted latch operation from the exterior.
  • ET trim control with the P lever design for comfortable, durable operation.
  • Cylinder dogging holds the latch bolt retracted for push/pull use during business hours.
  • Grade 1 construction for heavy-duty commercial and institutional applications.
  • LA keyway, keyed different for independent keying across openings.

Functional Details

The night latch function allows the outside lever to retract the latch only when operated by a key, while the inside push bar always permits free egress. Cylinder dogging uses a key to mechanically hold the latch retracted, converting the device to push/pull operation.

  • Cylinder dogging requires a mortise cylinder to lock the push bar in the dogged position.
  • Dogging allows the latch to be held retracted for passage during normal hours.

Arm Type Details

The ET trim uses the P lever, a contoured lever handle that provides accessible, ADA-friendly operation. When the outside key retracts the latch, the lever allows controlled entry; otherwise the lever remains in a fixed night latch position.

Included Components

This configuration includes the rim exit device chassis, ET trim with the P lever, cylinder dogging mechanism, and the required mounting hardware for installation on the specified door width.
