The Sargent 16-8888-G Rim Exit Device is a Grade 1 multi-function panic exit solution built for commercial openings measuring 43 to 48 inches wide. Designed for exit-only applications where no outside trim is required, this device features cylinder dogging that lets you hold the latch retracted for free passage during high-traffic periods. The 16-8888-G ships with an LA keyway cylinder keyed different, giving each opening its own unique key. Field reversible for left- or right-hand doors, it installs cleanly on a wide range of door types. Dependable, code-compliant, and durable, it's an ideal choice for schools, offices, retail, and other busy facilities.

Functional Details

Cylinder dogging uses a keyed cylinder to mechanically retract and hold the latch bolt, converting the opening to push/pull operation without a key during approved periods. Turning the key restores normal latching function.
