Sargent 56-12-NB-8715-J-ETP-84 Fire Rated Surface Vertical Rod Exit Device, Passage Function, ETP Trim, Electric Latch Retraction, Less Dogging, Less Bottom Rod, For 37-42" Width, 84" Height Door

The Sargent 56-12-NB-8715-J-ETP-84 is an ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 NB8700 Series surface vertical rod exit device with passage-function ETP lever trim. It is configured for a 37–42-inch door width and a 84-inch door height. The less-bottom-rod design uses a single top latching point without a bottom rod or floor strike. The 12- option identifies the fire-rated configuration and includes a thermal pin. The 56- option provides motor-driven electric latch retraction.

Features

  • Single top latching point with less bottom rod construction.
  • Passage operation from the outside lever and inside pushpad.
  • ETP trim with the P lever design.
  • ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Grade 1 construction.
  • LHR and RHR configurations are selected through the Handing option.
  • Fire-rated 12-NB configuration with thermal pin; installation must follow the listed door assembly and manufacturer instructions.
  • Motor-driven 56- electric latch retraction using a regulated, filtered 24 VDC power supply.

Functional Details

Function 15 is Passage: the outside lever retracts the latch at all times, and the inside pushpad retracts the latch for egress. No cylinder is required for the passage trim. The top latch remains active when the device is released; passage function does not eliminate positive latching. This fire-rated configuration has no manual hex key or cylinder dogging. Applying the specified electrical power retracts the latch through the rail motor; this is electric latch retraction, not an electrically locked ET lever function.
