Sargent 56-8874-G-ETP-24V Electrified Rim Exit Device, Electric Latch Retraction, Fail Secure Power Off Locks Lever, No Cylinder, For 43-48 Inch Width Door, Hex Key Dogging
The Sargent 56-8874-G-ETP-24V is a heavy-duty electrified rim exit device built for commercial openings that require controlled access and reliable panic egress. Featuring electric latch retraction (ELR), this device pulls the latch back electrically to allow push/pull or remote operation, making it ideal for access control integration. The fail secure design keeps the outside lever locked when power is removed, maintaining security during outages. Configured for 43 to 48 inch wide doors and equipped with the ETP lever trim, it ships without a cylinder for keying flexibility. Hex key dogging lets you mechanically hold the latch retracted for high-traffic periods. Operates on 24VDC.
Features
- Electric latch retraction (ELR) powered by 24VDC for remote and access control operation.
- Fail secure operation locks the outside lever when power is lost, preserving security.
- Rim-mounted exit device designed for doors measuring 43 to 48 inches wide.
- Includes the G (ETP) lever trim for keyed entry with a smooth, durable grip.
- Supplied without a cylinder, allowing you to match existing keying systems.
- Hex key dogging mechanically holds the latch retracted for push/pull-free traffic flow.
- Grade 1 construction suited for high-use commercial and institutional environments.
Functional Details
The electric latch retraction function uses a 24VDC solenoid motor to retract the latchbolt on command, enabling the door to be pulled open freely or integrated with card readers, keypads, and other access control hardware. When power is removed, the fail secure configuration leaves the outside lever locked, so authorized key access is still required.
- Electric latch retraction retracts the latch electrically for remote release and access control integration.
- Fail secure: outside lever remains locked when power is removed.
Arm Type Details
This is a rim-type exit device, mounting directly to the surface of the door face. The push bar actuates the rim latch, which engages a surface-mounted strike on the frame for straightforward installation and dependable panic egress.
Included Components
Device ships with the exit device chassis, G (ETP) lever trim, surface strike, and mounting hardware. A cylinder is not included and must be ordered separately.
