Functional Details

The 56 electrified option and storeroom (12) function work together to control access electronically. The outside lever remains locked at all times; momentary electrical actuation or a key retracts the latch to allow entry, while egress from the inside is always free by depressing the push bar.

Arm Type Details

This is a surface-mounted vertical rod configuration. Top and bottom latch bolts engage the frame and threshold strikes, securing the door at two points for added stability and reliable fire rated performance. Depressing the push bar simultaneously retracts both rods for free egress.

The device ships with the 8706 vertical rod exit device chassis, ETB exterior trim with 'J' lever, top and bottom latch assemblies, and mounting hardware. A mortise cylinder is not included and must be ordered separately.
