Functional Details

The 56- electric latch retraction prefix retracts the latch bolts electrically, enabling the door to be pushed or pulled freely during authorized access periods and relatching automatically when power is removed. In the storeroom (06) function, the outside lever is always locked and the key retracts the latch for momentary access, while egress from the inside is always available.

Arm Type Details

This device uses a surface-mounted vertical rod mechanism with upper and lower latch points. When the push bar is depressed, both the top and bottom latches retract simultaneously, releasing the door for immediate egress and distributing holding force across the full height of the opening.

The device includes the 8706 vertical rod exit chassis, ET trim with J lever design, top and bottom rods and latches, and the electric latch retraction solenoid assembly. A cylinder is not included and must be ordered separately.
