Sargent NB-8715-F-ETB-84 Surface Vertical Rod Exit Device, Passage Function, ET Control, B Lever, 33-36" Dr, 84" Dr Ht, Hex Key Dogging, Less Bottom Rod
The Sargent NB-8715-F-ETB-84 is a heavy-duty surface vertical rod exit device built for demanding commercial openings where reliable egress and durable performance are essential. Configured for passage function, this device allows free operation from both sides without locking, making it ideal for high-traffic corridors and barrier-free pathways. It fits doors measuring 33 to 36 inches wide and accommodates openings up to 84 inches tall. The unit features ET trim with a B lever design, hex key dogging for convenient push-pull operation, and a less bottom rod (LBR) setup that eliminates the lower rod for cleaner floors and easier maintenance. This Grade 1 rated device delivers long-term dependability in institutional and commercial settings.
Features
- Surface-mounted vertical rod design provides secure top and bottom latching for added door control.
- Passage function allows free operation from both sides with no locking engagement.
- Less bottom rod (LBR) configuration removes the lower rod to minimize floor obstructions and simplify upkeep.
- Hex key dogging holds the pushbar in the depressed position for push-pull convenience during high-traffic periods.
- ET trim with the B lever offers a comfortable, ergonomic grip and a clean architectural appearance.
- Sized for doors 33 to 36 inches wide and up to 84 inches tall.
- Grade 1 construction stands up to heavy daily use in commercial environments.
Functional Details
The passage (F) function provides unrestricted access, letting the door be opened from both the exterior lever and the interior pushbar at all times without locking. Hex key dogging lets staff hold the latch retracted for continuous two-way traffic.
- Passage function – latch bolt retracted by lever from either side at all times.
- No locking; free ingress and egress.
- Hex key dogging holds pushbar depressed for push-pull operation.
Arm Type Details
This is a surface vertical rod exit device rather than a closer, using top and bottom rod latching along the hinge side of the door. With the less bottom rod configuration, only the top latch engages the frame, while the bottom rod and latch are omitted to reduce wear points and floor clutter.
Included Components
The device ships with the 8700 series surface vertical rod chassis, ET control trim with B lever, top rod and latch assembly, mounting hardware, and strikes required for installation.
