The Sargent NB-8715-G-ETJ-96 is a surface vertical rod exit device engineered for wide, extra-tall openings measuring 43 to 48 inches in width and up to 96 inches in door height. Built for high-traffic commercial applications, it pairs a Grade 1 panic hardware mechanism with the ETJ trim, featuring the J lever for comfortable outside operation in passage function. The less bottom rod (LBR) configuration keeps the floor area clear, reducing maintenance and improving reliability in demanding environments. Hex key dogging allows the device to be held in a retracted, push-pad-free state for free passage during peak hours. Functional Details
The passage function allows the exit device latch to retract freely from both sides, providing unrestricted access without any locking of the outside trim. The lever operates the latch at all times, making it ideal for openings where controlled egress without security locking is required.
Arm Type Details
This device uses the ETJ trim, which combines the ET escutcheon-style outside control with the J lever design. The J lever provides a smooth, contoured grip that retracts the latch when operated from the outside, while the interior push pad handles egress from the inside.

The device ships with the top vertical rod assembly, top latch, mounting hardware, and the ETJ outside trim with J lever. The less bottom rod configuration omits the lower rod and latch assembly.
