The Sargent NB-8715-J-ETJ-84 is a surface-mounted vertical rod exit device built for heavy-duty commercial openings that require reliable passage operation. Designed for doors measuring 37 to 42 inches wide and up to 84 inches in height, this device pairs ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 performance with the convenience of ET control and the J lever trim. Its passage function allows free entry and exit at all times, making it ideal for high-traffic corridors and non-locking applications. The less bottom rod (LBR) configuration keeps the floor area clear, reducing maintenance and contamination from debris, while hex key dogging holds the pushbar retracted for continuous push/pull access.

Functional Details
The passage function (NB prefix) keeps the exit device unlocked at all times, allowing the door to be opened freely from either side without a key or credential. The hex key dogging feature lets staff hold the latch retracted to leave the opening in a continuous push/pull state during peak hours.
Arm Type Details
This is a surface-mounted vertical rod configuration. Rods run vertically along the door face to engage a top latch point, with the less bottom rod option removing the lower rod and strike to keep the base of the door clear.
