The Sargent 55-8813-J-ETB is a Grade 1 rim exit device built for high-traffic openings on doors measuring 37 to 42 inches wide. Configured for Classroom function with ET trim and the B lever design, it lets authorized users retract the latch from the outside with a key while allowing free egress at all times from the inside. The integrated Request to Exit (REX) switch signals access control systems when the push bar is operated, making it ideal for monitored and secured entries. Hex key dogging holds the pushbar depressed for push/pull operation during peak traffic. This unit ships less cylinder, giving you flexibility to match existing keying systems.

Functional Details

In Classroom function, the outside lever is controlled by a key. Turning the key retracts the latch for entry, while the inside pushbar always permits free egress. The Request to Exit switch monitors pushbar activation to communicate with building security systems.

Arm Type Details

The ET trim with B lever provides a return-style lever designed to meet accessibility requirements. The lever mounts to the exterior for keyed control while the device handles egress from the pushbar side.

Included Components

Device includes the rim exit chassis, ETB lever trim, Request to Exit switch, and hex key dogging hardware. Mounting fasteners are provided. A compatible mortise cylinder is required and sold separately.
