Functional Details

The 56- electric latch retraction function uses a built-in motor to withdraw the latch on command, enabling remote unlatching, integration with automatic operators, and scheduled access control. In the fail-safe (F) configuration, the device defaults to unlocked when power is interrupted, ensuring free egress and entry during a power failure.

Arm Type Details

This unit is configured with the ETJ trim, which provides a lever handle for controlled entry from the exterior side. When the outside cylinder is unlocked, the lever retracts the latch to allow entry; in the locked state, egress is always available from the push side.

The device ships as an 8800 Series rim exit device with ETJ lever trim preparation and electric latch retraction hardware. A mortise cylinder is not included and must be ordered separately.
