The Sargent 8715G-84 is a heavy-duty surface vertical rod exit device engineered for demanding commercial openings. Built for 84" door heights and sized for 48" wide doors, this exit-only model mounts to the surface of the door with top and bottom vertical rods for secure two-point latching. The G-type housing offers a clean, durable profile, and the hex key dogging feature allows the latch to be held retracted for push-pull operation during high-traffic periods. Supplied less trim, it functions as an exit-only device, making it ideal for stairwells, service corridors, and secondary egress doors where reliable panic hardware is required.

Functional Details

As an exit-only device, the 8715G operates solely from the egress side. Depressing the push bar retracts both the top and bottom latch bolts simultaneously to release the door. The hex key dogging mechanism allows authorized personnel to retain the bar in the depressed position, keeping the latches held open for continuous push-pull traffic.
