The Sargent 8715G-96 is a surface vertical rod exit device built for heavy commercial use on 96-inch tall doors. Configured for exit-only operation, it comes less trim for applications where no outside control is needed, and the 48-inch device width suits full-size openings. Part of Sargent's reliable 8700 Series, this device features hex key dogging to hold the latch retracted for push/pull traffic during busy hours. With its surface-mounted top and bottom rods, it delivers dependable two-point latching while remaining straightforward to install and service on aluminum, hollow metal, or wood doors.

Functional Details

The 8715 is an exit-only vertical rod device, meaning it provides free egress from the inside with no outside trim or operation. Depressing the pushpad retracts both the top and bottom latch bolts simultaneously, allowing the door to open.
