The Sargent 8813-J-ETJ is a Grade 1 rim exit device built for demanding commercial and institutional openings. Functional Details
In classroom function, the outside lever is locked and unlocked with a key, while free egress from the inside is always available by pressing the pushbar. This allows an instructor to secure the door from the corridor side without entering the room.
- Classroom function: Outside lever locked or unlocked by key. Latchbolt retracted by lever when unlocked. Free egress at all times by pressing pushpad.
Arm Type Details
The ET trim uses the J lever, a return-style lever that meets accessibility requirements and provides smooth, comfortable operation. The lever retracts the latch when the outside is unlocked, giving controlled entry while inside egress remains unaffected.

This assembly includes the 8813 rim exit device chassis with hex key dogging and the ETJ (J lever) outside trim. A mortise cylinder is not included and must be ordered separately.
