Functional Details

The 56 electric latch retraction option uses a motor to retract the latch bolt electrically, allowing the door to be released remotely or placed in a latch-retracted state for push/pull operation. In the fail-safe configuration, loss of power unlocks the outside lever, permitting entry while maintaining code-compliant free egress at all times.
