The Sargent LC-56-8804-G-ETJ is a heavy-duty electrified rim exit device built for wide openings measuring 43 to 48 inches. Featuring Electric Latch Retraction (ELR), this device allows the latch to be retracted electrically for remote access control, access management systems, or momentary free passage while still meeting life-safety egress requirements. Configured with the Night Latch function and ETJ trim, it provides secure, controlled entry from the outside while permitting unobstructed exit at all times. It ships less cylinder for keying flexibility and includes hex key dogging to hold the latch retracted mechanically. A Grade 1 ANSI/BHMA rating makes it ideal for high-traffic commercial and institutional applications.

Functional Details

The 8804 Night Latch function uses the outside key to retract the latch and gain entry, while the inside pushbar always allows immediate free egress. With Electric Latch Retraction, the latch bolt is held retracted electrically, permitting remote release and hands-free passage during authorized periods.

Arm Type Details

This is a rim-mounted exit device featuring an ETJ lever/thumbpiece trim on the exterior. The pushpad-style actuator spans the door for intuitive egress, while the surface-mounted rim latch engages a strike on the frame.
