Sargent LC-56-8876-F-ETB-24V Electrified Rim Exit Device, Fail Secure Power Off Locks Lever, Key Retracts Latch, Electric Latch Retraction, For 33-36" Width Door, Less Cylinder, Hex Key Dogging
The Sargent LC-56-8876-F-ETB-24V is a heavy-duty electrified rim exit device engineered for high-traffic commercial openings that demand reliable access control. Built with electric latch retraction (ELR) and a 24V power requirement, this fail-secure unit keeps the outside lever locked when power is removed, while a key retracts the latch for authorized entry. The 8876 configuration pairs the exit device with an ETB lever trim for controlled access from the exterior. Sized for doors measuring 33 to 36 inches wide, it ships less cylinder so you can match your existing keying system. Hex key dogging allows the latch to be held retracted for push-pull operation during peak hours.
Features
- Electric latch retraction (ELR) enables remote unlocking and momentary or continuous latch hold-back.
- Fail-secure design keeps the outside lever locked when power is off, maintaining security during outages.
- Key retracts the latch for reliable mechanical override and authorized entry.
- ETB lever trim provides durable, code-compliant exterior access control.
- Sized for 33" to 36" door widths for broad application coverage.
- Supplied less cylinder to accommodate your preferred keying system.
- Hex key dogging holds the latch retracted for free push-pull operation.
- 24V operation for compatibility with common access control power supplies.
Functional Details
This device uses electric latch retraction to pull the latchbolt back electrically when signaled by an access control system, allowing the door to be pushed or pulled freely. In fail-secure mode, the loss of power leaves the outside trim locked so the opening stays secured, while free egress is always available from the inside.
- Electric Latch Retraction (ELR) retracts the latch electrically for remote access and momentary unlocking.
- Fail Secure: power off locks the outside lever.
- Key retracts latch for mechanical access.
- Hex key dogging allows the latch to be mechanically held retracted.
Arm Type Details
The ETB designation refers to the exterior trim: a lever-style night latch trim that controls outside access. With the device in fail-secure mode, the ETB lever remains locked until power is applied or a key retracts the latch, permitting controlled entry while allowing unrestricted egress from inside.
Included Components
Ships as a complete rim exit device with 56-prefix electric latch retraction, ETB exterior lever trim, and mounting hardware. A cylinder is not included and must be ordered separately.
