Functional Details

The 8876 function is a key-retracts-latch, fail secure configuration. When power is applied the latch retracts electrically; when power is removed the outside lever remains locked and the latch returns to its secured position. A key in the outside cylinder will retract the latch regardless of power status, and free egress is always available from the inside.

Arm Type Details

This is a rim-mounted exit device, with the latching mechanism surface-applied to the interior face of the door and the strike mounted to the frame. The push bar depresses to retract the latch for immediate egress.

The device ships with the 56 electric latch retraction prep, ETJ outside lever trim, mounting hardware, and the matching rim strike. A mortise cylinder is not included and must be ordered separately.
