The Sargent LC-8806-J-ETP is a heavy-duty rim exit device built for storeroom applications on commercial and institutional openings. Designed for doors ranging from 37 to 42 inches wide, it pairs the durable 8800 Series chassis with the J-style ETP escutcheon trim to deliver reliable, code-compliant egress. In storeroom mode, a key momentarily retracts the latch to unlock the outside trim, which relocks automatically once the key is withdrawn—keeping the opening secured at all times. Shipped less cylinder for flexible keying, this device also features hex key dogging to hold the latch retracted when needed for high-traffic periods.

Functional Details

The storeroom (06) function provides a secure opening where the outside trim remains locked continuously. A key momentarily retracts the latchbolt to allow entry; the latch returns to its locked position, and the trim relocks as soon as the key is removed. Free egress is always available from the inside by pushing the touchbar.
