The Sargent LC-NB-8706-F-ETJ-84 is a surface vertical rod exit device engineered for dependable performance on tall commercial openings up to 84 inches in height and door widths of 33 to 36 inches. Configured in the storeroom function with the ETJ lever trim, it keeps the outside lever locked at all times while allowing free egress from the inside. This unit ships less bottom rod (LBR) for cleaner installation and easier maintenance, and less cylinder (LC) so you can supply the keying to match your facility. Hex key dogging lets you hold the latch retracted for push/pull operation during high-traffic periods, making it a practical choice for schools, offices, and institutional buildings.

Functional Details

The storeroom function holds the outside lever in a continuously locked state. Access from the exterior requires a key, while the inside push bar always provides immediate free egress for life-safety compliance. Hex key dogging can mechanically retract and hold the latch for unimpeded passage when the opening needs to remain unlatched.

Arm Type Details

This is a surface-mounted vertical rod exit device. The top rod engages a top latch at the door head, providing secure two-point style latching behavior at the top while the less-bottom-rod configuration eliminates the lower rod and latch for a cleaner sill area.
