The Sargent LC-NB-8706-F-ETL-96 is a Grade 1 surface vertical rod exit device engineered for demanding commercial and institutional openings. Designed for 33–36 inch wide doors measuring up to 96 inches in height, this fire-rated device operates in storeroom function with the ET-L lever trim, keeping the outside lever locked while allowing free egress at all times. It ships less bottom rod (LBR) for cleaner floor clearance and easier maintenance, and less cylinder (LC) so you can supply your own keying. Hex key dogging lets authorized staff hold the latch retracted for push/pull traffic during busy periods.

Functional Details

In storeroom function (F06), the outside lever remains fixed and the latch is retracted by key only, while the inside push rail always permits free egress. Because this unit is less bottom rod, only the top rod and latch engage the frame.

• Outside lever is always locked.
• Latchbolt is retracted by key from the outside.
• Key cannot be removed unless the lever is in the locked position.

This order includes the 8706 surface vertical rod device chassis, ET-L lever trim, top rod and latch assembly, and hex key dogging hardware. The bottom rod and cylinder are not included and must be ordered separately as required.
