The Sargent LC-12-8976-J-ETL-24V is a Grade 1 fire rated mortise exit device built for high-traffic commercial openings up to 37–42 inches wide. Engineered with an electrified ET trim operating at 24V in a fail secure configuration, this device keeps the outside lever locked until power is applied, making it ideal for access-controlled entrances where security during power loss is essential. It features the J escutcheon trim with an L-style lever and ships less cylinder, allowing you to match the mortise cylinder to your existing keying system. As a fire rated unit, it comes less dogging to maintain positive latching required for fire-rated door assemblies.

Functional Details

This 24V DC electrified ET trim operates in fail secure mode. With power removed, the outside lever is locked. Applying power unlocks the outside lever. When unlocked, turning the outside lever retracts the mortise latch. Operating the inside push rail permits egress regardless of the electrical state of the trim. A compatible mortise cylinder, ordered separately, provides mechanical key override.

Trim and Lever Details

The ET trim has an L lever. Electrical power controls whether the outside lever is locked or unlocked; operating an unlocked lever retracts the latch. Select the LHR or RHR handing to suit the opening.

Device ships with the electrified ET mortise exit chassis, J escutcheon trim, and L lever. Mortise cylinder is not included and must be ordered separately.
