Functional Details

The night latch (8904) function means the outside lever is always rigid and does not retract the latch on its own. A key in the outside mortise cylinder retracts the latchbolt for entry, while the inside push rail retracts the latch for immediate, code-compliant egress at all times.

Arm Type Details

The ETJ trim uses Sargent's J design lever, pairing with the mortise exit chassis to allow key-controlled outside entry. The lever itself does not operate the latch in night latch mode—entry depends on the mortise cylinder.
